Laser Hair Removal

Decoris Aesthetics offers hair removal without the pain and difficulty of waxing, the foul-smelling mess of sulfur-based depilatory creams, or the repeated, time-consuming, and often painful and occasionally bloody hassle of shaving.

With laser hair removal, the savings of time, heartache, and even money over the long term can be significant. No more endless and very painful waxing appointments or hours spent shaving or dealing with overpriced creams that smell bad, irritate the skin, and make a big mess. If time is money, laser hair removal treatments are priceless!

What Areas of the Body Can Laser Hair Removal Treat?

Laser treatments can remove hair pretty much anywhere it grows, including:

  • Face
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Bikini area
  • Chest
  • Back

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

The highly focused beam of light targets hair follicles without affecting the surrounding skin. The result is that hair growth slows down or ends completely with repeated treatments. The process is safe, effective, and FDA-approved and is effective on people of all skin colors.

Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

You may have been receiving mixed messages on this question. The truth is that laser hair removal is essentially permanent but it typically takes between six to eight sessions, spaced about four to six weeks apart, to remove hair for keeps. This is because lasers work best when follicles are in an active growth phase. Since follicles grow at different rates, repeated applications are needed to permanently slow and eventually stop overall hair growth. Follicles sometimes rebound, so Decoris Aesthetics also provides complementary yearly touchups to clients who have bought at least six laser hair removal packages.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

There is some discomfort but the degree is extremely minor compared to the searing pain associated with waxing in particular. Even shaving and creams can involve some levels of discomfort caused by abrasive chemicals or cuts/nicks caused by razors.

By comparison, most clients who get laser hair removal compare the sensation to having a rubber band repeatedly flicked against their skin and the process is over much more quickly. Best of all, after several sessions, the entire matter of hair removal is mostly done. Nothing is more painless than no treatment at all!

CoolPeel®

CO2 laser peels have been popular for facial rejuvenation as well as for dealing with scarring and blemishes for many years. However, older types of laser peels involved a significant amount of downtime.

CoolPeel® has taken most of the bother out of the process by only removing the very top layer of skin using SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser technology from DEKA. The technology represents a major advance in that it permits a top-tier medical professional to employ very short laser pulses that only target the top superficial layer of the skin. Because we are treating only the top layer, less heat is needed – and that’s what makes CoolPeel® so cool!

What Issues Can CoolPeel® Treat?

  • Wrinkling
  • Fine lines
  • Acne scars
  • Age spots and other blemishes
  • Large pores
  • Rough skin
  • Sun Damage

What Happens During CoolPeel® Treatment

CoolPeel® typically takes only about five to 15 minutes. Since the pulses are very short and a numbing cream is applied beforehand, there is little or no discomfort involved and no downtime. There may be some redness akin to sunburn immediately after the treatment, but that should dissipate over the next couple of days. You will want to moisturize your skin following CoolPeel® to facilitate recovery.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Tattoos have become far more accepted and common in recent decades but, as socially acceptable as they are for many communities, they still frequently overstay their welcome. Depending on the type of tattoo and what part of the body it’s located on, unwanted body art can be embarrassing, unattractive, and can definitely hold us back in our careers and personal lives.

Recognized as the gold standard in the field,* the Q Switched YAG Laser employed by our medical professionals at Decoris Aesthetics has made the tattoo removal process more comfortable and efficient than ever. Despite what you may have heard, when laser tattoo removal is performed properly, there’s an excellent chance that the discomfort you experience while getting your tattoo removed will be somewhat less than you experienced when you got it!

What Happens During the Tattoo Removal Process?

The Q Switched YAG Laser targets only pigments without impacting the rest of the skin. At the same time, it must be calibrated to particular wavelengths to remove specific colors and types of pigment. The size, complexity, and depth of pigments – as well as the location of the body art — will dictate the number and length of sessions required to fully eliminate it. Typically, six to 12 sessions spaced at least four weeks apart will be required to get rid of an entire tattoo.

A Decoris Aesthetics, we will provide protective eyewear and apply a topical anesthetic to reduce discomfort before a treatment. While the level of discomfort will vary depending on numerous factors, most people compare the feeling of the laser treatment to a sort of zapping sensation, something like an electronic rubber band.

The good news is that there is no downtime after each session and once your tattoo is gone, it stays gone.
