The 21st Century Approach to Beauty

Throughout the 20th century, anyone who wanted to get really serious about facial rejuvenation had only one option – a surgical facelift. People who wanted to prevent wrinkles before they appeared could only moisturize, try numerous beauty products or folk remedies, or perhaps take lifestyle advice such as avoiding stress. (Good luck!!)

It’s no wonder that Botox used to reduce and prevent wrinkling and facial fillers to smooth away deep wrinkling or plump areas became instant hits in the early 2000s and have remained immensely popular. They began as very effective and safe treatments and have only improved in the decades since as leading professionals found out more about what they can do. That means superb outcomes and maximum safety for people who choose their providers carefully

Botox

Botox is the best-known of a family of treatments derived from a botulism byproduct. These products, which also include Dysport and Xeomin, are most widely used to relax facial muscles so wrinkles stop forming and those already present can become much less conspicuous. Injectables can also significantly reduce fine lines such as crow’s feet, frown and laugh lines, wrinkles caused by tobacco products, and more. They each have specific features and we will suggest the product we think will work best in your case.

Botox and its sister products can also be used to control migraine headaches, stop excess sweating, treat urinary incontinence, and more.

Results and Recovery

Results typically start to appear very shortly or within four days after treatment and the complete outcome should be apparent after two weeks. The impacts typically last approximately three or four months. With repeated treatments, however, benefits may begin to last longer. Botox injections typically involve little or no downtime. If you are using blood-thinning NSAIDs such as Advil or Aleve, there may be some initial minor bruising. Clients can use makeup but should avoid strenuous exercise for about 24 hours following treatment. Otherwise, you may carry on your ordinary routine.

How Safe is Botox?

Botox and similar products have been used safely by millions for over two decades. Doctors refer to Botox and its competitors as using botulin toxin and we understand why that might sound intimidating. However, just as a little nitroglycerin can save the lives of heart disease patients but a lot can blow up a building, in extremely small doses these FDA-approved products are time-tested to produce outstanding appearance benefits safely.

Side Effects

All medications have side effects but they are typically minor and temporary when they occur.* The most frequent issues include some droopiness in the eyelids, redness, discomfort, and infection. The medical team at Decoris Aesthetics administers these products with great care to minimize the risk of minor problems. When side effects occur anyway, we can help to keep them mild and short-lived.

Facial Fillers

Facial fillers are available under many names – Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Belotero are just some. The most commonly used products feature hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin known for moisturizing which is also ideal for adding volume to smooth out wrinkles or to add volume where desired.

The most frequent issues addressed by fillers include:

  • Fine lines (laugh lines, crow’s feet, etc.)
  • Wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Creases
  • Sunken areas
Outcomes and Recovery

Results will appear immediately after the procedure but it may take some time for the filler to settle in completely. As with other injectables, there is little or no recovery time and many people get these treatments over a lunch break and head straight back to work. Impacts may last roughly 6-12 months but outcomes will differ depending on the client, the choice of filler, and how it is used.
